04:19 am - hey! any other popular forums/threads for intra-communicating?
hey I'm 26 female, married - we live in the gardens after in 2007 I graduated with a double BA in Secondary Education and Spanish plus completeled all the requirements to obtain through Albany and NYS an INTERNATIONAL certification for teaching grades 7-12.  We got married after 8 years courtship and on my honeymoon I fell ill...long story short they fround a brain tumor and diagnosed me as having a disease so rare (BEHCET'S DISEASE + Pituitary Tumor + Endometriosis) that only one doctor treats it in the US - and it's gotten me declared as "terminally disabled" as of 23 years old - and loop-holed out of my $60,000.00 job as a 10th and 11th grade Spanish teacher.  I got my last period on my honey moon in October, 2008 - which lasted 43 days and now ,July 23 2011 I'm completely infertile.  BAM.  So we wanted to move back here because people with this condition can go into remission quite quickly (side A) while the other poor souls (side B) tend to experience multi-system rgan damage if remission doesn't hit in the first 6 months (3 years for me).... the last US patient to die of Behcet's was a NYC woman named KELLY <- My name - and I'm 26...was living in NYC... then I decided this place was the last place I was really happy so I could use ANY friendship - as my husband is working 50 hours a week at 25 trying to provide - which was never the plan =(

08:26 pm - Room for sublet!!!
I have an available room on Main Street til July 27th.
There are three rooms in this place that are opening up, but I am subletting mine for 500 dollars (or a reasonable price, I can haggle.)
It's one block from campus.

07:37 pm - cap and gown
So, I graduated today... who is graduating next year, is 5'4 - 5'6, and wants a cheap cap and gown? Then you'll just have to buy the Class of 2011 tassle for your hat next year. They cost 36$ at the bookstore, but I'll give it to you for $20. (631)748-9740 gimme a ring or a text!

Peace,
Colleen

02:46 am - On campus housing?
Hi,

My name is Ben, and I am planning on transferring here to SUNY New Paltz - though not for a year and a half (though I will come up occasionally to visit my lovely GF).

I am aware that transfers *usually* don't have the ability to get on campus housing (WTF?), I was wondering though if it would be possible though for them to make exception for somebody with numerous (severe) learning disabilities and some physical/neurological issues, somebody who would be living a good chunk of mileage away from home with these disabilities and thus would need to be closer to campus if not on campus to make travel (and life away from home in general) far less difficult?

1 bedroom apartment is now up for rent!  It's in a very private and beautiful area, and is located about 5-10 minutes away from campus, depending on traffic. I'm the previous tenant, and if you have any questions, you can feel free to ask me or contact the landlord with the craig's list ad at the bottom.

09:11 pm - grad school
Has anyone been in the MST program (or any education program) in the grad school at New Paltz? I need some general discussion (on fieldwork, advising, classes, workload)  and soothing.

Thanks!

11:15 am - Happy Halloween
Hello everyone watching and visiting [info]sunynewpaltz!

We used to be such an active and vibrant community.
It would be nice if we could share more things about our school. :)

How do you guys plan on spending halloween?
I you know any events happening both on-campus or off-campus, do share!

;) and there's always the parade at 5PM on main street each year in town.
